I’m pretty sure when I started writing wordy posts that I said I was gonna do it every day in May? I don’t think that’s gonna happen at this point.
The other times that I’ve tried to explain the idea of “friend worlds” or “friend circles”, the people I was talking to didn’t understand. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the idea expressed in Seinfeld once, when George’s girlfriend wanted to meet his other friends, or something? I don’t really remember. I think part of the difficulty with understanding comes from some people’s friends just all being friends with one another already. Really, it does become more of a network than a circle, with one or two friends at least overlapping in the circles, but whatever.
I am only going to use first names.
My oldest best friend is Paul. I’ve known him since I was in 2nd grade. I don’t remember how we became friends though, and neither does he. I think it must have happened in 2nd grade sometime, because in 3rd grade we played games together all the time, and we’ve been best friends ever since. Along with Paul, in elementary/middle school I met Rich and Rob, making what I would call my first friend circle.
